Two hours following departure, the cruise will transport you to Poros Island, the smallest but most verdant among the islands on the itinerary. Its captivating coastline, surrounded by a narrow strait, presents a picturesque scene, distinctively different from the Peloponnese Peninsula mainland. During the approximately 50-minute leisure break on Poros, you'll have ample opportunity to explore its quaint streets and capture as many photographs as you desire.
Hydra, known as the car-free island near Athens, Greece, greets you as the next stop on our cruise, approximately an hour and 15 minutes later. We highly recommend being on deck to witness the approach, as Hydra's amphitheater-like shape offers a breathtaking view upon arrival.
The island's landscape is characterized by dramatic scenery and adorned with traditional mansions and stone houses, a testament to its rich history and heritage. Notably, Hydra maintains its car-free status, allowing only pedestrians, cyclists, donkeys, or water taxis to navigate its charming villages.
Hydra is perfect for leisurely exploration, boasting beautifully paved streets, numerous staircases, and a captivating seaside promenade. Its unique charm is sure to capture your heart. You'll have an hour and a half to wander Hydra's enchanting streets before returning to the ship for a delightful lunch, offering a taste of authentic Greek cuisine.
Aegina, the largest among the Saronic islands, welcomes you to Greece's scenic shores.
Two hours later, our voyage will lead us to Aegina, offering you the freedom to choose your adventure. As the largest island in the Saronic Gulf, Aegina boasts an array of captivating sites waiting to be explored.
For those seeking a classical experience, we offer an optional guided bus tour that will take you to the Temple of Athena Aphaia. Perched atop a picturesque hill, this well-preserved temple offers panoramic views of the island, the Saronic Gulf, and even Piraeus. On the return journey, a brief stop will be made at the Byzantine Church of St. Nectarius.
Alternatively, opt for the Panoramic Tour to traverse the island's natural landscapes. Although the archaeological site won't be visited, the tour concludes with a seaside stop where you can savor Greek meze dishes and ouzo.
Tickets for both optional excursions can be conveniently purchased onboard, eliminating any concerns.
But the adventure doesn't end there! Upon returning to the cruise ship, prepare to be entertained by our crew, dressed in traditional Greek costumes, as they host a lively Greek Traditional Folk Show. Our aim is to rejuvenate and entertain you as we sail back to the Port of Piraeus.
