Take a Step Into History: Discover one of the Top Museums in the World
Meet with our hosting team at the fixed meeting point 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tour starting time, in order to get all the necessary admission tickets and join your guide and group. You will then be led to the Acropolis Museum, a modern structure strategically placed to provide visitors with a direct view of the iconic archeological site and one of the main cultural landmarks of Athens. As you explore, you will be guided through collections and galleries encompassing different epochs of ancient Greek history, including the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, and Roman periods, enriched by a dive into Greek mythology. Highlights feature the Parthenon Marbles, architectural remnants, statues, pottery, and other significant archaeological treasures.
Explore the Number 1 Sight of Athens with Us: Make Your Way to the Acropolis
The sun will be on its way down once you exit the Museum and, after a short refreshment break, make your way to the Acropolis, entering through the south slope. Your knowledgeable guide will unveil the rich tapestry of history and mythology that envelops the numerous monuments you encounter along your route, including the Dionysus Theater, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Asclepius Sanctuary, the Temple of Athena Nike and, of course, the Parthenon! Among others, you will get to hear about the origins of theater, the power play between two gods over the protection of the city of Athens, as well as the ancient hospitals and their curiously procured remedies.
At Fresko Yogurt Bar Acropoli (3, Dionyssiou Areopagitou Street), look for your expert guide with an orange sign that says “Athens Walking Tours.” This location is at the beginning of the pedestrian walkway that takes you from Hadrian’s Arch, Siggrou Avenue (also written as Syngrou), to the Acropolis.
Please be at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to tour departure time.
Our tip: While at Fresko Yogurt Bar Acropoli, it is a good opportunity to try a serving of fresh authentic Greek yogurt, enhanced when drizzled with the famous Greek honey made from local herbs or adorned with a spoonful of traditional Greek sweets.
The meeting point is at the main entrance of the Acropolis, right across the canteen. Our staff, holding the orange Athens Walking Tours sign, will be waiting for you.
Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour departure time.
A new time zone system for entry to the Acropolis has been introduced. This innovative approach aims not only to minimize waiting times but also to prevent overcrowding, ensuring a more sustainable and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Booking a tour with us guarantees your entry on that specific date and time. Advance booking is highly recommended due to limited availability.
